Instructions on How to Request an Academic Program and/or Plan Change
You need permission from your advisor, and often from a department chair and/or a dean, to declare or change majors, minors, sub-plans, and tracks.
- For lower division students (undecided, freshmen and most sophomores) the Academic Advising Center is the place to go for assistance.
- Upper division students (juniors and seniors who intend to, or have, declared a major) should seek assistance from the department in which their degree is located. A listing of Colleges and Schools for undergraduate programs can be found at Colleges & Schools on the FIU website. Degree listings can then be found within each college or school website.
- Graduate students should refer to the college or school in which their degree is located. Please begin at the Graduate School website at University Graduate School On-line Forms.

- Within 2 business days of receipt, the Office of the Registrar (UP) or the One Stop Enrollment Center (BBC) will enter your new program information in PantherSoft.
